There’s SO much I could say about this retreat, and I knew a blog post wouldn’t be able to capture ALL of the experience – so if you want to listen to KyAnn and I breakdown the whole retreat experience, the obstacles we had to overcome last minute, and the transformation we experienced in that room be sure to listen to the full podcast episode above!

What is the Rooted Retreat?
The Rooted Retreat is a small, intimate gathering for Christian moms in business — women who love Jesus, love their families, and are building something that actually matters (but NOT at the cost of what matters most).
This isn’t a “hustle harder” strategy or any kind of “woo woo” manifesting. This entire experience was rooted in Scripture and was built around the four pillars that we believe form the foundation of a business that lasts:
- Home — because the rhythms of your home matter
- Business — practical strategy + real implementation
- Community — you weren’t meant to do this alone (life OR business!)
- Rest — we were made to work from rest, not toward it
Everything we do at this retreat flows from one core belief: that a business built on Scripture, with your priorities in the right order, will bear more fruit than anything you could hustle your way into. That’s what this retreat is all about.

Luxury Retreat in 30A Florida

We stayed at the most GORGEOUS luxury Airbnb just minutes from the beach in the Rosemary Beach area of 30A, Florida. In our minds, January in Florida was the perfect spot to relax and soak up the sun!
That was until the winter storm that changed a *lot* of our plans (and also meant it was 30 degrees during our stay).
BUT that didn’t stop us 🙂 We walked to the beach every single day — bundled up, laughing, doing our walk-and-talks in the freezing Gulf breeze. And honestly? It was one of the best parts of the entire experience.
And all of the things that went wrong or were pivoted because of the storm? The rerouted flights. Sweatshirts ruined at the embroidery shop. A Walmart run at 11pm. Tornadoes in Florida (??). It all became part of the story – and even more importantly, it became a way for us to experience more of the Lord’s provision and faithfulness.
Somewhere in the middle of managing all of the chaos of that storm leading up to the retreat, my co-host KyAnn and I both felt the Lord quietly remind us that WE weren’t actually in control of this (and certainly not the weather!). HE was.
And that became the posture we walked into the retreat with — open hands, full hearts, full dependence.
And while it cause a liiiiiiiittttle more stress & last minute logistics than we would have preferred — looking back, we wouldn’t change a thing.
The Heart Behind the Rooted Retreat
KyAnn and I started planning this retreat because we were both searching for an experience like this: something that wasn’t a hustle-culture business conference or a vague “rest and self-care” retreat.
We wanted something for women like us who LOVE being moms AND who love building a business — and who wanted to do both from a place of faith and good stewardship.
So we built the retreat we wanted to attend.

(there’s honestly SO much more to say here about how this retreat came about and how the Lord put it on our hearts for YEARS – be sure to listen to THIS podcast episode to hear more of this story!)
We wanted women to leave not just with a notebook full of ideas, but with rhythms — things they’d actually practiced during the retreat itself. Quiet time. Walks. Candles at dinner. Screens set aside. We wanted them to experience firsthand that you can slow down and still move forward. That rest is not the reward at the end of the work. It’s the foundation you build the work on.
THAT is what Rooted is all about.
The Rooted Experience
This retreat was intentionally kept very small, and it made SUCH a difference in the experience!
Within an hour of everyone arriving, we were around the dinner table with our private chef cooking in the kitchen, and somehow we were already deep in conversation about birth stories, homeschooling, dispensationalism, and every other topic you can imagine 😅
We skipped right over the small talk and created a space where women felt safe, seen, and willing to be vulnerable. It was SO incredible to see that happen so quickly!!
On day two, one of the attendees shared something heavy she was walking through (nothing to do with business), and before any of us could think twice, someone said “can we pray for you?” and everyone stood up, gathered around her, and prayed over her SO specifically. Just twenty-four hours in and that was the room.
Without giving too much away for those who may want to join us in the future, the retreat experience was set up to prioritize each of the 4 pillars: home, business, rest, and community. There were hot seat coaching, teaching sessions, worship nights, crafts, quiet time and devotionals, group walks, and SO much more.
There was just as much intentional strategy & business breakthroughs as there were deep, heartfelt conversations, prayer, and worship.
